Surya Mandir situated in Jharkhand is a unique modern temple dedicated to Surya, the Hindu sun god. The temple is in the form of a chariot with a beautiful lotus structure atop it. The architecture of the sun temple at Giridih is inspired by the famous Sun Temple in Konark, Orissa.
The murti of Surya Bhagavan in the temple is sitting on a chariot driven by seven horses. Aruna, the charioteer, can also be seen.
