पंचघाघ जलप्रपात राँची से लगभग ५० कि.मी. दूर रांची-चाईबासा रोड पर सिमडेगा के रास्ते पर स्थित है, और खूँटी से १४कि.मी. दूर स्थित है। यह ऐसा जलप्रपात है जिसमें पाँच धाराएँ स्पष्ट दिखाई देती है। पाँच झरनों की शृंखला होने के नाते इसे पञ्च धारा के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। यह एक आदर्श पिकिनिक स्थल भी है।
लोककथा के अनुसार प्रचलित है कि कभी पाँच सगी बहनें किसी एक ही व्यक्ति से प्रेम करने लगी थीं । असफल प्रेम के कारण ये यहीं नदी मे कूद गयी जो पाँच धाराओं मे बदल कर प्रवाहित हो रहीं हैं।
Located on the way to Simdega on the Ranchi-Chaibasa Road, it is about 50 kms from the state capital. Being a series of five waterfalls in a row the destination is known by the name of PanchGhagh or even PanchDhara. It is an ideal picnic spot amidst lush greenery. The cascading water of Swarnarekha, foaming through the naturally occurring gradual terrain of the rock is a sight to behold. The place is usually frequented by the revellers on the New Year’s eve. It is in the vicinity of the Hirni Falls.
